Jim Jacobs is a member of the Oglala Sioux Tribe and was raised on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota by his parents, Carol and Wesley "Hot Shot" Jacobs, with four brothers and 2 sisters. He has 3 daughters and one son living in South Dakota, Colorado, and Houston.
Jim has won the INFR Bareback Riding Championship 6 times in his career. During his rodeo years he also raised cattle and horses and worked for the Golden West Phone Company and is now enjoying retirement after 36 years of service.
Jim has traded in his bareback rigging and spurs for a fishing pole and fins as he heads south of the border as often as he can, with his side kick Terry, to go scuba diving in the Caribbean Sea.
