The INFR Endorses Rodeo School

3MC Rodeo School
The INFR is proud to endorse the 3MC Rodeo School in Kyle, SD. We encourage all INFR members, associations and communities to get involved with the youth. Without them, the future of rodeo does not exist.

INFR Commissioner Bo Vocu has been an instructor at the 3MC Rodeo School for six years. Here’s what he had to say about the school.

"Fortunately there was the Lakota Rodeo School in Pine Ridge, SD. The instructors were some of the best including Howard Hunter, Dugan LeBeaux, Louis Twiss, Tuffy Sierra and others. There were a lot of champions that came out of this school including the following INFR World Champions: Marty Hebb, Wes Janis, Chad Brunsch, Don Bettelyoun, Smiley Sierra, Jeremy Meeks and Cakes Tibbetts just to name a few. I contribute a lot of my success to this program."

The Lakota Rodeo School faded out years ago. Seeing the need for a school to keep the Native youth involved on our reservation, Maurice Twiss and Dale Vocu with the help of others started the 3MC Youth Rodeo School. The school uses Indian champions as instructors so that the kids can relate to the instructors. They see that these instructors come from the same place and same situation as them. Some of the instructors have included INFR World Champions like Merle Temple, Mark Cuny, Ethan Belone, Shelly Vocu and many others.

In six years the 3MC Rodeo School has had over 850 students. Producing INFR qualifiers like Catlin Clifford, Shilo Ammiotte, Kade Bettelyoun, TC Clifford, Bo Tyler Vocu and many others. Some of which may have never had the chance if it wasn’t for this program. So the INFR encourages you all to get involved in our future. Feel free to contact the INFR or your local INFR region to start a program in your area today. Click here for poster.

Blackfeet ropers pull huge upset in Denver

By Kyle Partain for ProRodeo.com

For four days, the National Western Stock Show & Rodeo had two very interested spectators in Montana team ropers Ty St. Goddard and Ryle Whitford. They were front and center again during the Jan. 22 final round as they watched 11 other teams try to set the average mark to beat before they took their turn in the arena.
